Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year, Rebel Nation!
Dear Rebel Nation Students and Families,
It is with great excitement and heartfelt pride that I welcome each of you to another incredible school year at Robert W. Groves High School! Whether you are returning to continue your journey with us or joining the Rebel Nation family for the very first time, know that you are an important part of something very special.
As the "Proud Principal" of Robert W. Groves High School, I want every student to know this: I believe in you. I believe in your ability to learn, to grow, to overcome challenges, and to achieve greatness. My greatest responsibility and my greatest privilege is ensuring that every student who walks through our doors receives the highest quality education possible in a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
At Groves High School, excellence is not an expectation reserved for a few; it is the standard we pursue together. Every teacher, administrator, counselor, support staff member, and coach is committed to helping you discover your strengths, reach your full potential, and prepare for success beyond high school. We promise to challenge you, encourage you, support you, and celebrate your accomplishments every step of the way.
However, your success also requires a commitment from you!
I ask every Rebel to make the following commitments this school year:
- Come to school every day and arrive on time, ready to learn.
- Attend every class every day and make the most of every instructional opportunity.
- Be actively engaged in your learning by asking questions, participating in discussions, completing assignments, and giving your best effort.
- Demonstrate respect for yourself, your classmates, your teachers, and our school.
- Encourage your peers, celebrate one another's successes, and help create a culture where everyone feels valued and supported.
- Never stop believing in what you are capable of accomplishing.
Education is a partnership. The more you invest in yourself today, the more opportunities you will create for your future tomorrow.
At Robert W. Groves High School, we are more than a school...we are a family. Families support one another. Families celebrate together. Families hold one another accountable. Families lift each other up during difficult moments. When one Rebel succeeds, we all succeed. Together, we will continue building a school culture where every student knows they belong, every voice matters, and every dream is worth pursuing.
To our parents, guardians, and families, thank you for entrusting us with the education of your children. Your partnership is one of the most important factors in your student's success. We cannot do this work without you.
This year, I ask each family to commit to:
- Ensuring your student attends school every day and arrives on time.
- Setting aside time each week to review grades, attendance, and assignments with your student.
- Encouraging positive study habits and celebrating academic growth.
- Maintaining regular communication with teachers, counselors, and administrators whenever questions or concerns arise.
- Attending parent conferences, family engagement events, open house, and other school activities whenever possible.
- Reinforcing the importance of respect, responsibility, and perseverance both at home and at school.
- Partnering with us to create the best possible educational experience for every Rebel.
When schools and families work together with a shared purpose, there is no limit to what our students can achieve.
As we begin this new school year, let us embrace every opportunity with enthusiasm, determination, and Rebel Pride. Together, we will create a school where academic excellence flourishes, leadership grows, friendships are strengthened, and every student is empowered to write their own success story.
Thank you for choosing Robert W. Groves High School. I am honored to serve as your principal, and I look forward to celebrating another outstanding year with each of you.
Welcome home, Rebel Nation!
With Rebel Pride,
Dr. Monique Hazzard- Robinson
