Clothing

Tops

  • Colors:  Gold, Black, White
  • Polo/golf-style shirts
  • Polo/golf-style shirts with the Groves High School Logo
  • Collared blouses or dress shirts
  • Turtlenecks
  • Hooded sweatshirts
  • Patterned sweaters, vests, or jackets
  • Logos or visible name brands
  • Halter, tank, fishnet, or tube tops
  • Strapless tops, spaghetti straps 
  • Oversized tops
  • Any form of transparent clothing, revealing clothing, or oversized tops may not be worn

Solid White-Colored Polo Shirt

Solid Black or Navy-Colored  Polo Shirt

Solid Gold-Colored Polo Shirt

Bottoms

  • Colors:  Khaki, Black, Navy, or Gold Plaid (skirts and jumpers only)
  • Styles: Shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers, capri pants, full-length slacks
  • Fabrics: Bottoms made of cotton or twill fabric and have a finished hem
  • Bottoms should be worn at the natural waist
  • Skirts, Skorts, shorts, dresses, and jumpers must be of an appropriate length that maintains modesty and provides sufficient coverage when the student is walking, sitting, or participating in school activities.
  • Jeans/Denim material
  • Skirts, Skorts, shorts, dresses, and jumpers that do not provide sufficient coverage when the student is walking, sitting, or participating in school activities
  • Unfinished hems
  • Cargo-style pants with pockets on the legs
  • Leggings/Jeggings
  • Logos (other than the Groves High Logo) or visible name brands
  • Oversized pants or shorts

School-Approved “Spirit Wear”

  • Groves High School Shirts (collared or t-shirts purchased from the School Store) may be worn on school uniform days
  • Groves High School hooded sweatshirts (purchased from the School Store)
  • Athletes may wear team uniforms on game day and special occasions as designated by the Head Coach
  • Unauthorized bottoms that are not approved under the uniform code
  • Hoods may not be worn on the head while in the building

Footwear

  • Enclosed and fastened
  • Tied properly
  • Crocs
  • Athletic Slides
  • Flip-Flops
  • Open-toed or backless shoes

No Croc                   No flip-flops            No Athlectic Slids for Feet

Hosiery

  • Tights, leggings, hose, or socks may be worn 
  • Tights and socks must be solid navy, black or white with no design 
  • Hose without design may be worn 
  • Tights, leggings, jeggings, and/or spandex being worn as an outer garment or pants

Accessories

  • Jewelry is acceptable if it is not offensive and does not interfere with the learning environment
  • No hats, caps, hoods or sunglasses may be worn in the building
  • Extreme hair color/style that causes a disruption or interferes with the learning environment will not be allowed
  • Body piercing that causes a disruption or interferes with the learning environment 

Outerwear

  • Solid-colored sweaters, vests, or sweatshirts may be worn over uniform shirts.
  • Coats and jackets must be worn open while in the building. 
  • Hooded sweatshirts that do not open in the front are not allowed at any time.

Bookbags & Handbags

  • Handbags, purses, pocketbooks, and similar items must be no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches (the size of a regular sheet of paper), 3 to 4 inches thick, and must not be large enough to contain a regular-sized textbook
  • Clear or mesh book bags, tote bags, backpacks, and athletic bags. 
  • Purses/handbags larger than a sheet of paper
  • Bookbags/backpacks that are not clear or mesh.

Identification

  • Once distributed, all students should wear their current Groves High School ID badge 
  • No ID badge
